1. Shot peening to extend fatigue life by stress relieving, peen-forming and peen-straightening.
2. Intensive use in wheel turbine machines and on High Stength Steel (HSS) at the same intensity
range as steel shots.
Features:
1. Superior to traditional peening media, like steel shot and glass beads,as CHEMCO ceramic shots
can achieve similar peening intensities with a lower surface roughness. It can be used in peening
applications as replacement of steel shots where ferrous contamination is not acceptable.
2. The higher density of CHEMCO ceramic shots ensures peening intensities equal to those
obtainable with glass beads at a reduced abrasive velocity. Thus CHEMCO ceramic shots have a
far less abrasive breakdown rates up to 15:1 compared with glass beads and almost zero dust
generation, which results in cleaner working environment as well as better operator visibility.
3. More resilient than glass beads, allowing its use in wheel turbine machines and on High Strength
Steels (HSS).
4. White color, high sphericity and smooth surface beads.
5. Strong mechnical resistance and high toughness, but gentle with equipments and tools preserving
work parts. Dramatically reduction of wear in turbine machines.
6. Chemically inert,no metallic contamination for treated parts, which avoids the need to post treat
the light alloys after peening, save cost.
7. Offering deeper layers of the substrate and high level residual compressive stress close to the
surface in shot peening process, improves fatigue strength.
